At night I write in my diary…. The film and its writing are in dialogue with texts by Bhanu Kapil and Audre Lord, interwoven with my experience of working with an Indian artists’ collective from Modinagar, Uttar Pradesh. ‘Thwarted belonging’, the artist as exile, a feral self… confronting the acts of political resistance by a group of artists whose work is made in the sugarcane fields and seen by no-one.
